Meet the Chorus

Since 1978, our volunteer singers have made extraordinary music, built community and raised their voices for LGBTQ+ equality.

One voice. A lifetime of belonging.

Founding member Bob Rufo has sung with SFGMC since day one. Hear his story in the video.

A Place to Belong

The Pansy L. Chan and Terrence D. Chan National Queer Arts Center is the home of SFGMC and a year-round destination for queer arts, culture and community.

Come for intimate performances, community celebrations, sing-alongs and special events, or make the space your own.

Music in schools

Every young person deserves to belong.

Through music, personal stories and conversation, RHYTHM helps students in grades 6–12 celebrate individuality and stand up against bullying.

Launched in 2018, the program reached nearly 15,000 students through the 2023–24 season.

Music brings us together

Our voices belong wherever community gathers.
